One-Stop Business & Employment Centers

The One-Stop Business & Employment Center, an Illinois workNet Center, joins providers of employment, education, and training services — at one convenient location — to offer businesses and job seekers easy access to a network of resources at the local, state and national level. This comprehensive system provides a wide variety of services and programs to help our customers achieve their employment, educational and career goals.

Business Services

We serve the business community by helping local employers connect with qualified job applicants. We offer area businesses assistance in areas involving recruitment, worker retention, training, and more.

By partnering with economic development organizations, we work to ensure that new and existing businesses will have access to a quality workforce. In addition, we offer valuable local labor/market information to help businesses make informed choices and decisions.

Services and programs offered through the One-Stop Business & Employment Center, an Illinois workNet Center, include:

• Job posting
• Recruitment and pre-screening of qualified applicants
• On-site interviewing
• Easy access to information about qualified job applicants
• Incumbent Worker and On-the-Job Training programs
• Federal and state business tax credits and savings
• Rapid Response — mass layoff assistance
• Labor/Market information, including job and wage data, plus industry growth trends, forecasts and more

Job Seeker Services

Partners of the One-Stop Business & Employment Center, an Illinois workNet Center, are dedicated to helping job seekers achieve their educational and career goals. Highly trained attendants and career specialists offer job seekers counseling and referral to a variety of educational and career training opportunities.

Our resource rooms enable job seekers to use computers with internet access, fax machines, and telephones for resume preparation and job searching at no cost. Assistive Technology equipment ensures our programs and services are accessible to all job seekers, especially those with specific needs.

The One-Stop Business & Employment Center, an Illinois workNet Center, provides job seekers access to:

• Job listings, including hiring requirements
• Assistive technology equipment and software for the visually and hearing impaired
• Job referrals, placement and evaluations of education and training programs
• Local, state and national labor/market information
• Initial screening for training eligibility
• Tools for assessment of skill levels and career interest surveys
• Workshops to enhance job search skills
• Assistance with filing UI claims (offered only at Mt. Vernon location at this time)

Partners in Service

The One-Stop partnership consists of employment service, education and training agencies; vocational education and rehabilitation agencies; community colleges; universities; unemployment insurance agencies; plus not for profit and for profit organizations. We also partner with economic development organizations to ensure that new and existing businesses will have access to a quality workforce.

Office Locations

One-Stop Business & Employment Centers and Man-Tra-Con Corporation offices are conveniently located throughout the five county area. All offices are open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
