Illinois Migrant Council

Illinois Migrant Council or "IMC" is a community-based, non-profit organization with the primary mission of promoting employment, educational and other opportunities for migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families to achieve economic self-sufficiency. IMC offers:

The Farmworker Jobs Program - IMC offers assistance with transportation, resettlement, family care and related work clothing and tools based on individual need. Participants may also be eligible for employability assessment, job counseling, English as a second language, jobs skills readiness, On-the-Job Training and work experience.

Educational Projects - Scholarships for Community Service Block Grant eligible youth for Illinois colleges, Farmworker Youth Computer Literacy and Career Exploration opportunities, Migrant Education projects and Migrant Even Start literacy services.

Case Management Services - Emergency Services to assist eligible farmworker families in crisis by offering temporary food and over night shelter assistance, counseling, translation and referrals to other human services for services and Supportive Services which include transportation, resettlement, family care and related work clothing, and tools based on individual need.
